Friday fun...

gotta love Google...

heather needs new boobs (I can agree with that one)
heather need two therapists (it's a matter of opinion)
heather needs a childhood (I'm living vicariously through my children)
heather needs some bodyguards (yes, those damn papparazzi)
heather needs to impress us (hmm... keep waiting for that one)
heather needs a captive audience (I rely on my *cough* children for that)
heather needs Gatorade (yes, I am a little parched now that you mention it)
heather needs veggies (i'll agree on that- can never have too many)

Jensen & Cameron...

sittin' in a tree....

well, you know how the rest goes.

They had a play date today. Freakin' adorable- two peas in a little pod. I figured if Rita's not going to update her blog, then I'll post some pictures of her kiddos over here. :P

PSSST... wood floors came today. Beautimous I tell ya... now, to install.... *sigh*

Closer....

yay!

Granite was installed this week. Now we just need to do hardware, and the floors are being delivered Monday. Woot! Almost everything is put away (FINALLY!) and working on the decorating...

this is the left side of the office. One of the bottom cabinets has a 'mixer lift' that my sewing machine is on- it's basically a table within the cabinets that swings out and pops up, so the sewing machine can stay put away when not in use. There's also a second desk area under the message board where a chair goes. All of the upper cabinets are just regular cabinets- I have lots of baskets in there... I figure later I can show interior pics. :) The candy jars are from Pottery Barn and the photo boxes are from Michael's...and you can see my new little vintage camera from PB in the corner too :)
This is the computer area, of course :)
More storage area, and this back wall goes to counter height. I wanted to be able to sit sometimes, and stand sometimes when I was working on stuff, so I got both. And the cabinets below here have 2 12x12 file cabinets, with a shelf above them. The last storage part on the rigth has fabric, and all of our games in it.

Then, of course, there's the scissors. :) On the opposite wall the corkboards and pegboards will go when they come in, and we bought a table and chairs for the kids that will go in this corner for them to work on projects, too. That's it! My new space! Lovin' it... oh, and on the back wall, I plan on putting b&w photos of the family across it.... just haven't gotten the photos printed yet...

SIT.

Such a simple word. And yet, when your children learn to say it, it can become quite embarrassing....

In a grocery store:

Me: Megan, sit down please (because buckles and straps mean NOTHING to her.)

Megan: SHIT!! SHIT!!

and she sits. for 3 seconds.

Me: Megan, SIT DOWN please!

Megan: NO SHIT! NO SHIT!! NO SHIT!!

awesome.

and so it goes....

bittersweet times a coming....

went to the 'Kindergarten round-up' this afternoon- an orientation for parents for Kindergarten next year.

*sniff*

My little guy is going to be in school full time in just a few months. Hard to believe. Time has just flown. Most days he seems so big and grown (like today when he was schooling me on what a "pigmy marmaset" was in the car) and then other times he still seems so little (like this morning when he told me that "You and Daddy are my bestest Mommy and Daddy ever". Good thing, since he's stuck with us for the long haul. ;)

It's definitely going to be tough transistion for me.... my little dude gone six hours a day, five days a week, away from me. I've never been a clingy mom, and Cam's never been a clingy child (Lord knows he's never met a stranger) but we also spend a lot of time together, so it will be a change of pace. Harder for me than for him, I'm sure.

He's just like me- loves people, love to just do and go all the time. He'll love school, and thrive. I'm sure of it..... :)
But it still breaks my heart- just a little.
***disclaimer***
shall reference back to this post the next time I feel the urge to lock said child in a closet.

Cousins...

Cameron's been asking every single day when he gets to meet Ethan...he was so excited to meet his new cousin....it took us a little longer than planned, because Serene went back into the hospital Monday night after having Ethan on Friday with chest pains... it turned out she had a pulmonary embolism (sp?) (=blood clots in her lungs).

very serious. very scary. Thankfully, through a lot of pain and tough time away from Ethan, *hopefully* she gets to go home tomorrow. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please.

So today we went down to see Serene at the hospital, and Emmeline and Serene's mom were up there with Ethan, so Cam was elated to meet his cousin. Megs, not so much. I don't think she cared for the competition. ;)

Also finished a new layout for Scraplovers with some Zsiage papers- it's National Poetry Month, so I used some song lyrics for the layout from Rascall Flatts...

...a work in progress...

contractors suck. no matter how good they are, they still suck.

I've watched enough HGTV.

I should have known.

Any project or remodeling job will take double the budget, and three times as long as you think.

After two months, I have cabinets.

And a cement floor. (otherwise known as my future knotty american cherry 5" wood floors)

And plywood counters. (otherwise known as chestnut granite)

*sigh*

I finally put the ribbon jars in there just for a little fun.

Maybe by Memorial Day this will be done....

until then, I just walk by and dream...

Happy Birthday Mom!

she's ummm.... 29 today! ;P

Hope you have a fabulous day! The last five years have definitely been a turning point in our relationship. I have watched you grow and change just as I have, and it continues to make me proud to have you as a grandmother to my children, and proud of the mom you are to my brothers. You have a wonderful husband by your side now who makes you very happy, and may you continue to flourish, and have a life full of many blessings!
Happy Birthday Mom!
Love you!
