just a few things...

1. His hair has never been this blonde. Even when it was curly before he had his first haircut.
2. He's starting to think really deep thoughts. Like about other children in the world, and what they do and don't have. Sometimes the scope of his heart just leaves me breathless. He really is so special.
3. He has a six pack. Seriously. From swimming- when he goes to dive (which he's doing amazing at) you can see it. Very jealous.
4. My summer goal is to work on his atrocious handwriting. Sources tell me his daddy's was just as bad, but still...
5. He is becoming quite the gentleman... "ladies first" he tells me all the time now. Too cute.

1. Her hair is getting long- to the middle of her back. I'm trying to decide to cut or not to cut.
2. She is constantly cracking Brent and I up with the adult phrases that come out of her mouth... I need to start writing them down more often.
3. Her desire to include everyone all the time is awesome. "You come too?" "With me?"
4. She still loves to snuggle- like clockwork she shows up at an entirely too early hour of the morning, and crawls in bed, quiet as can be, to snuggle. Sometimes she falls back asleep, and I celebrate.
5. While she can be the absolute sweetest most amazing child ever, if she is at any point sleep deprived, you have been warned. The demon in her comes out. Loudly.

Off to get ready... we're heading down to Kemah for the day for some much needed FQT!

step back in time...

ahh, these days seem so long ago... and yet just like yesterday.

I went back on my blog for my journaling... reminds me of how glad I am that I update with info... and that I need to start doing it more often, because my brain just doesn't retain the info like it used to. :) Because for the life of me, everything that's happened between Megan being that age, to now, is a blur....and now she's on the verge of three, full of spunk!

scrappy stuff...

some latest creations for Scrapbooks.com... two are sketches from Ginger- thanks Ginger!
We're in the height of birthday party madness... had two birthday parties today, and one more tomorrow.... it's that time of year where there's always at least one each weekend- phew!
Just finished up a fun week at VBS- both the kids had a great time, and I was there all week volunteering, and so did Em. Add to that friends over almost every afternoon, and it's pretty busy around here!
Hope everyone's summer is going fabulous!

12th of June, Oh My!

yep, I'm at it again.... couldn't stand not having my 12of12's.... my fav pictures come from these days, and this one was no exception... even ones that don't end up making it in the collage are fabulous :)
  1. this bridge. drive across it a zillion times a day sometimes. it's been speed trap-o-la lately. Many friends have been sacrificed at the hands of it.
  2. hair did time. Em and I went and got our hair did. rock on for no roots.
  3. lunch at berryhill. yum-o. then hit the Loft. Did I mention we had NO KIDS? :) And Em's been staying the week, so it was girly day....which leads to...
  4. cute toes time. pedis rock.
  5. picked up the Fuja kiddos so Rita could get her hair did too.
  6. they swam. a few minutes later, my own children arrived, fresh from gramma's.
  7. my lame-o attempt at protecting my new hair investment. Megan wanted to be twinkies, so I had to dig around in her closet and find a hat that was two sizes too small. Howdy Doody, here we come.
  8. Brent picked up McAlister's for dinner. Healthy we are. Is orange Cheeto fingers a food group?
  9. Kiddos playing dress up. Yet another Beverly Hillbillies hat, along with Buzz Lightyear costume, and don't forget the lip gloss!
  10. Brent opening one of his father's day gifts early. If you have a man that grills, get him this. He will think you rock to no end.
  11. Em and I just can't stop with the fun... headed to the Movie Tavern. I made the mistake of letting Em pick the movie, and managed to scream and pee on myself all at once. Awesomeness. The movie sucked at movie plot, but still manages to scare the crap (or pee) outta ya.
  12. watching some oooollldd America's Funniest Home Videos, trying to get visions of #11 out of our head.

That's it! Day in the life, oh my! Off to yet another weekend of swim meets and birthday parties, and squeezing in some Daddy-O worship as well. My husband requested Hooters by the pool. :)

sometimes sweet...

love the moments my kids are sweet, just rarely get pictures of it...plenty of seating available, but this is how they watched their movie. :)
