Guns and pigtails...

what a combo, eh?

Serene was armed and dangerous with a gun today... registering for alllllll the *stuff* my little nephew will need soon... fun fun fun! Love shopping for baby stuff! Even when it's not mine! Okay, so I snuck a *couple* of things in the basket for Megamonster, but geez all the new spring stuff was cute!

And Megamonster is now officially sporting some piggy tails... let me tell you, nothing is more fitting for little Sassy's personality than a couple of pigtails...
Annnnddddd... my little brother Nick's birthday is today! Happy Birthday Nickie! (teehee I know you gotta hate that!) He's officially "in his twenties" now... and will be a daddy in just a few more months!

Happy Birthday Alisha!

Best wishes for a fabulous coming year! Smooches!

We had a great time last night celebrating... a new tradition, since we did it last year too! :)

realizing...

that the real reason Victoria's Secret calls their new bra the "Angels Secret Embrace" is not, as I first thought, so that you can wear it under anything and no one will see it. As I tried on my new bra, and my pups were at a place I don't believe they've been since I was 16 or so, I realized that it is because they are keeping it a secret to everyone else at what a sad state of affairs these puppies are really in. I feel like I have a whole new rack... I wonder if I could just super glue this thing on....

adjusting...

to a 4 year old who no longer takes a nap, and a 17 month old who is down to one nap a day. Adjusting to life with a little less of that peace ( I don't know why I call it peace, because usually when they're napping I'm frantically trying to hurry up and finish something while they sleep. I guess it's peace for them.) and the fact that my kids are growing just a little more.

My son is beginning the reading stages- putting the letters together, and constantly asking how things are spelled. We read all the time. He has now memorized his phone number and address, and just loves to call the house from my cell phone and leave a message- it's SO hilarious! He loves the computer and is officially 4 1/2 on Monday. His preschool celebrates half birthdays for those who have summer ones, so they make a poster and send it home for us to decorate with pictures all about them, and they bring in a treat. Pretty neat. Didn't get a great picture with a wiggling toddler in the other hand.

Megan turned 17 months on Thursday- geez.... you want to talk about Tazmanian Devil, come see Miss Megs in action. That girl can fly from one perilous feat to another before you can blink!

She's sat on the potty a couple of times now, but I believe it's purely to humor me. She's a sly little thing, that Megan, and loves to feel like she's getting away with something. We take the trash out when it's half full, because anything above that Megan can reach in and grab bring and smear around the house. She eats more than Cameron does on any given day... I have no idea where it goes, but the girl can chow. I give her anything and everything- she'll even eat a raw onion and not bat an eye (look, after a while curiosity gets the best of you- you just want to see what she won't eat). She definitely keeps me on my toes throughout the day, and cracks me up continuously. This stage is so fun- even when they're being terrors, I can't help but laugh!

I've been keeping busy with the overalls and outfits- just when I start to think I'm almost finished, some other orders come in- it's fun though and it makes me feel good that people love them. :) Brandy and I decided to register a domain and get a logo together, for nothing in particular at the moment, but who knows what the future may hold... for now, I'm just going to get some clothing tags for the outfits, for care instructions and such. Anyways, my friend Tiffany has been working on a logo- I'll have to share once it's done to get opinions!

Off to a busy weekend- FIL, Nick's and Alisha's birthday....Brent's going out tonight, and tomorrow Cam's got karate and tomorrow night Brandy, Sabrina and I are going out with Alisha to celebrate her birthday. Sunday the guys are going to the car show with my FIL (annual tradition for his birthday) then the whole clan is going to dinner Sunday night. Somewhere in there I need to fit some scrapping for some things that are due soon, and I'm supposed to go help my SIL register at BRU sometime too... ahh... the slow life....:) have a great weekend!

country girl in the house...

Megan officially gives high fives and has started saying "Hi Y'all!" I'm not one for using much of y'all when saying hello, so I'm not sure where she picked it up, but it's pretty frickin' funny when she says it... she draws it out slowwww... just like a country gal! :)

Oh No!

Just when I get caught up on November and December, here comes the

12th of January! WHOA!

1. Woot! It's Friday! Cam gets to eat breakfast at the table! Yes, sadly, many mornings the breakfast is eaten in the car on the way to school. And don't look too hard. Yes, he still insists on wearing his Santa jammies.

2. I'm a thrill seeker with the pictures... it being Friday, it's sheet changing day. Don't squeal with excitement yet....

3. Got some sewing done on an order.

4. Smut and Scrap mail- what is any better than that???

5. Found a cute little thingy-majig at Kirklands Home on clearance. Woot. Only went in because it was next door to...

6. Ulta, where I needed some new shampoo and makeup. They were out of both. Boo. Got both kids out of the car for that?!?!

7. Eat fresh. And loud. Met Heather and her kiddos for lunch. It was loud.

8. picked up some scripts for my knee and nose. The Dr. said both will take about 4 weeks to heal. Yay.

9. My finds at Joann's today. And a few things at Hobby Lobby. I was making the rounds.

10. Working on a puzzle with Cameron. Gotta make up to him dragging him into all those stores...

11. Megan with crazy hair after her bath, promptly walking into the play room and making an enormous mess of all the books I just picked up.

12. An impromptu girl's night at Jennifer's. Yay! Rita made cool drinks. We toasted. And drank again. And ate yummy greek pizza.. oh yeah... life is good. :)

life with a cute monkey...

I'd like to draw your attention to a couple of things in this picture:

1. The gate in the lower left corner blocking the stairs from small children.

2. The small child, climbing the outside of the stairs.

She gets herself about two more stairs up, but I cannot with a clear conscience stand by and take pictures of my toddler skydiving.

continuing on...

July & August... since it started out only family pics, I decided to keep it that way(it's easier to pick them that way too) ... I do have some favs of my friends and their adorable children, too. Maybe that should be another post... this is really fun... browsing through all the pictures of the year. Some I forgot about, and already am looking at and thinking about the layout that can accompany them... :)

more favs...

Some of these I love because they're sweet.. some are just silly and show our family's personality... or a moment- like the one of Megan staring into the camera- she had just pulled herself up for the first time!

And one more to catch up on...

12 on the 12th of December!

1. Going to be a busy day- got dinner started in the crockpot (love the person who invented those!) while I cooked breakfast (read: cooked means I put frozen waffles in the toaster oven and cut up a banana. Don't misunderstand.)

2. Dropping my handsome man off at school. Love you!

3. Dropping my daughter off at Gramma's for a day of spoiling- she's not so sure about a Santa that's the same height as her... must investigate...

4. Ahh... eggnog latte... bliss....

5. ran to Sam's to get some Christmas gifts.

6. Dry Cleaners- don't think I need to explain that one...

7. went down to Alisha's to see new baby Bryce @ 4 days old... (the reason Miss Megs was disposed of at Gramma's) so new and fresh- still has her inky feet!

8. go to pick up the kids at Gramma's- for some strange reason Cam decided they wanted to take a bath in the middle of the afternoon. I swear he asks for things over there just to see what Gramma will say yes to.

9. Love coming home and turning on all the lights at Christmas. It's cool seeing everything up in our new house. Solidifies home once you've celebrated Christmas in it.

10. This one came out blurry, but Megs has this new roar thing she does- it's probably blurry because I was trying not to pee on myself from laughing so hard.

11. Got a delivery from my mom today- a really cool vase and 'stuff' to go in it (a la Pier 1) and this ensemble of wine stopper/wine charms/display for Christmas. Love them!

12. ahh.. wine.. well, I had to try out that new stopper, you know?

I didn't forget...

I'm just a little delayed... here's my 12 on the 12th for November-

1. Cam being a slug watching cartoons with Daddy- no picture of Daddy- he didn't want his crazy morning hair posted on the internet. :)
2. Looking through my SU! catalog trying to figure out what I'm going to order at my stamper's group today.

3. Little more than a week before we leave for Washington! Ack! So much to do- did some piddly stuff around the house to get ready for it.

4. Wholesome lunch for Cam- a lunchable. Almost as wholesome as dinner turns out to be.

5. Jordan came with Rita to our stamper's group. With cookies. Bonus. Sabrina came with me, but alas no picture of her.

6. Workshop table. Making some cards.

7. finished up some of the Christmas outfits for Tracee.

8. Went to Heather and Tiffany's open house at Tiff's for a while (H sells Beauticontrol; Tiff sells stationary)

9. More cookies and goodies. Bonus. The pumpkin bars were Yum-O!

10. Wholesome dinner I referenced earlier. Mom of the year in the making...

11. laundry. Blech.

12. Peace for 2 seconds... nah.. smudges on the office door instead. :)

some favorites...

Some of my favorite layouts are the 'in review' ones- over the course of a year, or a period of time. They're great. Anyways, decided to go through my pictures from 2006 and pick my favorite SIX. Whew. That was tough. Didn't happen. Instead, I thought I'd work it out for the first few months of 2006. :)
I figured I'd break it up over a few posts... so these are all Jan-March 2006. Hmm... funny. They're all of my kids....weird...

It's been so long..

I don't even know where to begin. I've missed two Megan updates, our trip to Washington, Christmas festivities, and New Year's. That's a lot of info.... I don't ever want to go this long again!

In scrapping news, I haven't submitted in forever- need to get back to doing that, too. The last thing that came out was the book in CK, and this month I have a layout in SB Trends.
Also, I am now a part of KMA's Design Team and ScrapLover's. Yay! Both fabulous sites- check them out! It was a little overwhelming at first at the thought of it- especially during all the holiday insanity, but I'm so excited for both now. KMA was the first place I ever ordered any scrap supplies from (Brandy, do you remember that going away gift certificate???) and ScrapLovers is an awesome site too with great people.

The trip to Washington was great- the kiddos got to see snow and play in it- we took them up to the mountains to go sledding, and the rest of the time we were at my mom's it snowed there, too. Very cool... Thanksgiving was good, too. Just the family- much needed and good times for all.
I've also been pretty busy with overalls and outfits had quite a few for Christmas, and now have started on several different patterns for spring. It started out as a favor for a friend, and has spread like crazy!
We also had the arrival of Baby Bryce on December 8th. She's beautiful and doing great.

Christmas Eve we went to church and then to the Keller's for dinner and presents. Christmas Day we did the Santa stuff, went to the Keller's for brunch and the annual puzzle, then over to Nick & Serene's for Christmas dinner.

We also had my niece Sommer's 10th birthday, Gray's 4th birthday, a trip to the children's museum, and all the regular Christmas insanity in between. Whew.

Then there's NYE. Had a great time with the now annual fondue party at our house, and I heard the fireworks were fabulous. I missed them because I was busy bashing my face into the backyard table while getting chairs for the front to go around the fire pit. Created a nice crime scene throughout the house (nothing bleeds quite like a nose after a few glasses of wine). I heard the ball drop from my bed, laid up with ice packs covering my face and knees, while everyone stood around me counting down. Awesome. Guess I needed to make sure everyone remembered the evening. I am now bruised from head to toe, with a baseline fracture of the nose. I always forget how many different colors bruises can change....

Megan is doing great- a "little S-H-I-T" as I fondly refer to her now and then. Although that came to a screeching halt when Cameron told his Aunt Shelley the other day (after Megan had whacked him numerous times in the head), "Aunt Shelley, Megan is a little S-I-T-H-O-P" Hmm... better stop spelling things around the house. Can't wait until he shares that one with the teachers.
Since my last Megs post, she's upped the vocabulary to "Uh Oh", "Dawg" (every animal is a dog), and "Ow" (She heard it enough from all of us every time she whacks on us). She loves to dance all the time- every time music starts playing she starts getting busy. It's hilarious to watch. She's starting to pretend a lot more- she got a kitchen for Christmas, and many a baby doll she loves to snuggle with, and she still loves books, although she doesnt' like to be read to- she just wants to turn the pages herself. Cam's doing great- he'll be celebrating his Half Birthday on the 30th- makes me want to cry even thinking about itj- can't believe he'll be starting Kindergarten in the fall. He's been obsessed with age lately- refers to everything in the past as "When I was 3..." or "When I was 2..." and everything in the future as "When I'm five..." It's hilarious. And apparently we threatened with the "be a good boy or Santa won't come" one too many times, because now he seems to need an update throughout the day. "I'm being a good boy, right Mommy?" These days I can usually say yes... :)

Anyways, if you've read this far, that's the "in a nutshell" update- tried to condense it as much as possible so I no longer feel overwhelmed to update all that's happened in the last two months, and I can get back to the normal blogging, including reading everyone's, which I haven't been doing either. :(

Hope everyone has a fabulous and prosperous 2007!
