we decided...

Megan wasn't quite ready for miniature golf... she was more interested in the hole than the ball... and proceeded to rip the flag out of everyone's hole, including other patrons peacefully putt putting along with thier own families. And I, being the responsible parental figure that I am, stopped to take a picture.

7 randoms...

I was tagged...

So this is how it works. I must post the rules, 7 random things about me and then tag others to do the same. Sound fair enough, right? These are the rules…. each player starts with 7 random facts about themselves on their Blog. People who are tagged need to blog 7 facts about themselves and post the rules as well. At the end of their blog list 7 people you are tagging. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving them a comment.

1. hmm... didn't realize how hard this would be, but I'm already stumped on #1.... okay, well since I'm working on one right now, in the last 4 years, I have helped host or hosted 16 baby showers in the last 3 years.

2. I have 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 stepbrothers. I have what I like to call the family 'bush' instead of 'tree'....

3. I cannot stand to eat any kind of ground meat- burgers, pepperoni, sausage etc. The only kind I will eat is ground turkey breast. But do not misunderstand, I LOVE a good steak. Please don't ask why, because when I start to tell you why, I will only get through one sentence before you tell me to stop.

4. I love to cook. Especially new recipes.

5. My great grandmother is still alive and well, and Cameron has gotten to meet her.

6. I asked Brent for help on this one, and asked for a random fact and got "You totally steal the bed".....hmm... I just like the middle. :)

7. I like some kid things more than the kids do... like tubing (any kind- snow, water, etc.).

I tag Shannon, Brandy, Krystn, Rebecca, Lisa, Aimee and Michelle. Have fun!

12 on the 12th...

1. computer. email. mbs. addiction.

2. Cam and I working on a dino floor puzzle. have to do it on the sly in the office with the doors shut so She-ra doesn't bust it up.

3. play time upstairs for a while. My kids both love the Miami Vice glasses. They get their sense of style from their dad. I swear.
4. Gray & Ty came over for a play date. Lots of costumes and legos.
5. Patch has gingivitis and has a medicine that she has to take every day. Good times. It involves growls, hisses and flying hair. I feel it's significant to mark it as part of the day.
6. my IL's are on vacation, so we've been going over there every day to do the mail, paper, plants and feed the cat routine. Out of the four things, I figured Tiger was the most interesting.
7. Took Cam to VBS. Perfect timing- take him, go home, Meg's down for a nap. Peace. Rock on.
8. Went over to Rita's after I picked up Cam, and brought Jensen with us for the afternoon/evening. Stopped by the pet store for dog food, and the kids had fun picking out some stuff for Maggie at the 'salad bar'.
9. Some cards I made today during nap/VBS
10. Eggplant Parmigana for dinner. I lied and told the kids it was chicken.
11. Meg with rock star hair in the tub.
12. Playing some games with the kiddos- Candyland & Hungry Hippos were the choices for tonight. I left out the picture of the housework and laundry for today... so not very exciting after a while!

Happy Father's Day Brent!

To an awesome father, who loves his family dearly. I couldn't ask for a better husband for me or daddy to these two angels. I really have the best family ever- this life we have is a dream come true, and I thank God every day for the moment you and I met, and the journey we have taken to create this life together. You work so hard for us, and yet always have time to give and things to share. From the time playing with Cameron on the floor of his room (God help me, I just can't do those Legos justice like you!) to the snuggles with Megan, to the nights you hang with the kiddos while I have a girl's night :) to keep my sanity... you rock!

Thank you.

Love you Always- Heather

just a swingin'....

my kids love to swing. I really think they could hang out in our backyard all day and be completely happy. (I would die of heat stroke) They do different things, but always go back to swinging.... and it's always funny how they do 'new' things that take me back... like Cameron always trying to touch the sky... and Megan, who's big brother and daddy taught her how to be 'supergirl' so now she does

it alll the time... it's hilarious.

Had a fabulously busy weekend, with Dylan's 2nd birthday party on Saturday- can't believe he's already TWO... the party was great....lots of great food, a giant cookie cake, and plenty of water for the kids to have a blast in. Dylan's an awesome little man, with a rock star personality and as adorable as can be! When's the next baby coming Brandy?? :)C

Sunday the kids were baptized, and we had a get together for everyone back at the house afterwards for everyone who had come up to see the festivities... no stellar pics of the baptism due to the lighting- this one is the best- one of Megs' turn.
Here's a picture of a few of us girls afterwards... Serene was hiding somewhere (sneaky girl you!), and Shawna had already left...L-R is Rita, Heather, Brandy, myself and Shelley. It was a great day, and fabulous to have our closest friends and family there for the special occasion.

And for anyone who wants to give it a shot, tomorrow is 12 on the 12th! Get those cameras out!

Why is it...

that they make baby hats that look like this??

Do you think we'd ever really put one of those on this cute kiddo? I mean, really.

Some pictures...

all of the pics are now on Flickr, but for those who don't care to look through 200+ pics of people they have never met in their life, thought I'd post a few highlights here...

Brent and I at the moment of drop-off of our children....yay! We were away from our children for approximately 44 hours :). In case anyone was wondering...
Adrienne in her cap and gown after the ceremony... along with my ex-stepmother, youngest sister, and my brother.

and me with my sisters afterwards at dinner:

Serene, Susan and I before the wedding- Serene wore her Texas hair just for the special day :)
This one is just to show you how cool we are (this pales in comparison to the pics of us on the dance floor singing and dancing along to "I will survive"):

my brothers looking spiffy:
the ceremony (no flashes, so not great pics, but I tried):
the chocolate fountain at the reception... I made Serene take a picture with it since she has a love/hate relationship with her chocolate fountain.... and I had to post it just Serene could love me for it the next time she reads this :)
Oh, and look who elbowed all the little girls out of the way to catch the bouquet.... looks like we have another wedding coming up....
all right... no more. The rest of Adrienne's graduation can be found here, and the rest of the wedding pictures here.

I think my brain is going to explode...

I just can't seem to keep anything straight the last few days! It was definitely a whirlwind weekend, with my sister's graduation (very cool to see her graduate) Friday night, and my brother's wedding Saturday afternoon (which was so pretty)... whew! Here's a pic from the wedding night... more to come later from both nights though. Just wanted to show that Brent and I can clean up from time to time- *gasp* check out the TIE around my hubby's neck! Mark it on the calendar folks, it doesn't happen often! :)
Then this week is VBS for Cameron, gymnastics, had to find outfits for their baptisms which are Sunday... still looking for pirate shirts for the kids for Dylan's pirate birthday party Saturday.. found a cute one for me, but it was in a youth size, and nothing about my chest says youth. Boo.
Also got a few layouts for www.scrapbooks.com done the last couple of weeks...

Ahh... the memories...

seems so long ago now... just did this layout for Scraplovers with some Crafter's workshop papers :) Hurricane Rita... what a scary time in our lives. Between Katrina and Rita, there was a lot of devastation and loss. We were so incredibly fortunate.
