I got the most amazing phone call today. My MIL called to tell me, basically, how wonderful and amazing she thinks I am. No, really. Stop laughing.
Seriously, it made me feel great. No one tells people enough what they think of them, and today just marked a moment that made me realize that. I need to let the people I think are great know that more often. I mean she called just to tell me that she admired me and thought I was amazing. How cool is that?!? Can you imagine how that made my day? I mean, she talked for a good 20 minutes about all the things she thinks are great about me. Maybe the really fascinating people of the world have that happen often, but it's never happened to me. I don't have a mom of my own that tells me she thinks I'm great. And like I said, we don't really (I say we, but I'm not speaking for everyone, but I know I don't) come out and tell the people that mean so much to us just why on a regular basis. And it I happened to really need it this week. In all honesty, I can't think of a day I wouldn't need it, but I wouldn't want to inflate mine or anyone else's head too much, so once in a lifetime is cool with me. I'll float on it for a good while.
It was just yet another reminder of just how lucky I am. Awesome. Love it. Wouldn't trade this life for anything.
On another note, Brent and I were talking last night about the things we've picked up from one anther since we've been married. Those weird little quirks. For instance, I rip out all the little inserts in magazines as soon as I get them- I got that from Brent. And he never used to eat salsa on everything the way he does now. We thought of all kinds of things throughout the night, and I thought it would make a great layout sometime. Food for thought.
Also, if you were to pick a color for a scrap room, what would it be?

Jason and I are going to do a private joke album so we can sit on our porch as old people and laugh about what cracked us up thirty years ago.
What a really nice thing for your MIL to do, that's gotta feel good!
I'm thinking about the scraproom color for myself as well. I was thinking yellow, but the color might clash with my storage stuff. Still thinking...
Sounds like your MIL is a keeper!
Scraproom color,hmm...yellow, pink, something bright and fun (just like you :) )

YAY for the MIL!!! I'm very happy that someone did that for you... YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!
And scraproom color? I wouldn't change what I did mine in.. It's Laura Ashley Home Olive 3. It's really more of a sage green. Cream colored trim, black furniture. Funny story about the paint... it's RIDICULOUSLY expensive but I had no clue until they mixed it and I was on my way home I must have been on a "high" so excited to be doing a room all by my lonesome. Sticker shock set in on my way home. YIKES! But I love the color.
Can't wait to hear what you choose!
And did I mention YAY for you?!? :)
yay for awesome mils!
color... bright and fun. or depending how you will do storage, something neutral then you can add crazy color in the photoboxes, prima and ribbon jars...
can't wait to see it!
You are awesome!! And so is your mil for telling you so.
As for scraproom color, I'm going with Sherwin Williams Blonde (#6128). It's a nice shade of warm, soft gold. Most of my house will be in colors from that paint strip. I really looked for a green for my scrap room but couldn't find the right shade. Wish I had known about Colleen's. I had to give an answer to the painter today so he can pick up the paint on Monday so I went with one I know that I like even though i haven't decided on the furniture or the color of it yet.
